{"id":226,"date":"2026-01-29T19:55:46","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T19:55:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.charthetraveler.com\/blog\/?p=226"},"modified":"2026-01-29T19:56:23","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T19:56:23","slug":"the-reality-of-juggling-game-dev-and-blogging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.charthetraveler.com\/blog\/the-reality-of-juggling-game-dev-and-blogging\/","title":{"rendered":"The Reality of Juggling Game Dev and Blogging"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, I had a sneaking suspicion that it would be this way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve heard other devs talk about how difficult it was to develop a game and also release blog posts, vlogs, devlogs, changelogs, or other informational content to keep followers informed about development of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Granted, I am not making vlogs or devlogs. I am mostly posting on the blog for the game&#8217;s website <a href=\"https:\/\/survivorsoflateearth.com\/blog\/dev-blog-links-to-posts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HERE.<\/a> I just spent three days, though, working on the Character Creator system for my game, Survivors of Late Earth, and it was all I could do to fit anything else in. It was a bear of a system to add, and I took screenshots periodically as I worked on it. That made it easy to write a <a href=\"https:\/\/survivorsoflateearth.com\/blog\/2026\/01\/29\/creating-the-character-creator-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">post about it<\/a> on the game&#8217;s site, but does kind of put a dent in my creative juices and mental stamina. All that to say, I haven&#8217;t posted anything on here while I&#8217;ve been so busy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m just one person. Aghgghh!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I do have some ideas rattling around in my head that I&#8217;d like to post about here.
